Recreation Intern

The City of Norwalk is seeking a dependable, self-directed, and positive individual to serve as an intern for the Parks & Recreation Department for the 2026 summer season. This position will work closely with the Parks & Recreation team to gain experience in program planning and delivery, special event coordination, customer service, and administrative support.

This temporary internship is available to undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a degree in recreation, leisure services, sports management, or a related field. The internship dates are flexible depending upon any applicable academic requirements, but will ideally span approximately 12-16 weeks between April and August. Hours will be flexible and dependent upon programming, and will include some scheduled evening and weekend programs, not to exceed 40 hours per week. 

Starting Wage: $16.00/hour
