Recreation Director

The City of Pella (population 10,464), located 45 miles southeast of the Des Moines metro area, is seeking a Recreation Director. This position reports to the City Administrator and is responsible for the overall management and oversight of the new Pella Indoor Recreation & Aquatics Center, outdoor Aquatic Center, and programming at the Pella Sports Park and Soccer Complex. 

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in recreation management or a related field, and five to ten years of experience in recreation programming, or any combination of experience, education, or training that demonstrates the applicant has the leadership competencies necessary to fulfill the job requirements.

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $110,000 dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skillset. Relocation expenses will be provided for the successful candidate.
