Parks & Recreation Intern - Summer 2026

The City of Ankeny is seeking a highly motivated, energetic parks and recreation or sports management student to complete an internship with the City's Parks and Recreation Department. Ankeny is a young, vibrant and growing community of over 70,000 people. It is located 15 miles north of Des Moines.

The intern will be involved in all aspects of the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will run from May- August for approximately 13 weeks, taking into consideration school internship requirements and dates. The intern must complete 40 hours/week and is expected to work hours that encompass days, nights and weekends when needed. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. 

Starting Wage: $17.00/hour
