Lifeguards

Responsible to:  Aquatic Director

 

  • Must have a current Red Cross lifeguard certificate.  Can be regular lifeguard, shallow water lifeguard, or waterfront lifeguard.  This should also include CPR for the professional rescuer. 
  • Must be at least 16.
  • Will be trained to our Emergency Action Plan.
  • Will need to be able to enforce rules.
  • Must be willing to learn how to check pool chemicals. 
  • Must be able to learn acceptable water quality levels, and if there is a problem to contact the Aquatic Director and/or CPO immediately. 
  • Making sure that if the drains are not visible in either pool, that pool is closed until reopened by the Aquatic Director and/or CPO. 
  • Will be trained on how to handle various clean up situations. 
  • Will attend monthly in-services. 
  • Will learn information regarding Weather Emergencies, Lightening, Evacuation procedures, and chemical emergencies, and Shelter in Place procedures.
