Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Director

The City of Hiawatha seeks a Parks and Recreation Director to oversee parks, playgrounds, trails, and recreational programs. This leadership role involves staff supervision, budget management, program development, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage department operations, staff, and recreational facilities.

Develop and promote parks programs, events, and services.

Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and capital improvements.

Serve as a liaison between the City Manager, Council, and Parks Commission.

Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation, Public Administration is preferred. Acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Leadership, budgeting, and recreation program management experience.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

CPRP certification (or ability to obtain).

Valid Iowa driver’s license.

Salary range $78,100 - $99,400.
